Galati foundation for the promotion
of small and medium-sized private enterprises
Galati Foundation for the Promotion of Small and Medium-sized Private Enterprises was founded in 1993 under the Law no.21/1924, on the initiative of Galati Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture, based on a project initiated by the Romanian Government through the Romanian Development Agency and UNDP (United Nations Development Programme) through UN-ROM Centre in Bucharest.
The founding members are: Galati Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture, Galati County Council, Galati Prefecture, “Dunarea de Jos” Galati State University.
In 2002, Galati Municipal City Council became also a member of the Foundation.
Galati F.P.S.M.S.P.Es is a non-governmental, autonomous, apolitical and non-profit organization
The Foundation is an NGO, autonomous, apolitical and without lucrative goal, whose main activities are: supporting the development of SME’s with consulting services on financial and business issues, marketing studies and evaluation reports; elaborating grant applications, assisting and supervising services on projects implementation, drawing restructuring studies; feasibility studies for regional programmes; elaboration of quality management systems; identification and dissemination of programmes for financial assistance; search for business partners; participation in community programs; information about the European Union and community issues; offers specialized consultancy services regarding the establishment, improvement and expansion of companies’ activity, public administration institutions and NGOs; organizes seminars and training programs on SME-specific topics; database development necessary to provide information on equipment, technological equipment, suppliers, services, associations existing in the county; organizes fairs and exhibitions.
The Foundation has implemented over 18 projects with European funding.
